Danna, which means Black Pearl, is a saluki from Chez Kimmy's in Doha, Qatar.
Salukis are used in Qatar for racing and hunting many are abandoned in the city and desert to fend for themselves when they are no longer of use to their owners.
Kimmy found Danna tied to her front fence in 111 F degree weather, she was dehydrated and had a heat stroke.
Danna's body tells a story of neglect and abuse, yet she is social and playful and still a bit of a puppy head.
At this moment she lives with large dogs and a small dog which works out, but she is supervised at all times since she can become too playful.
It takes Danna a bit of time to warm up to people and can be a bit handshy, but she adjusts fast.
When given a bit of time, she is great company and brings daily smiles with her saluki antics.
