Duque is one of those dogs you don't directly notice.
At first, he stands a bit away from you, cautiously observing with his beautiful eyes, which hold so much uncertainty, but also hope, as if he wants to be sure that this world means well for him.
He is a little timid, a gentle rascal, still too thin –Physically and perhaps also emotionally. And yet he possesses an incredible tenderness within him.
With time, patience, and loving calm, Duque reveals his true self: a very sweet, quiet Galgo who moves through life with profound gentleness. He demands nothing, doesn't impose himself. He waits. Waits for people who expect nothing from him—except that he can simply be. Duque needs a confident second dog to whom he can emotionally lean—a friend who provides him with security without many words. He gets along well with other dogs, almost naturally, as if closeness were something healing for him.
On a leash, he walks beautifully, calmly, and attentively. New environments, however, are still unfamiliar to him, and noises can startle him.
There's this special aura about him. This warmth that touches you deeply if you take the time to look. With Duque, you get the feeling he simply longs for a little bit of happiness. For a place where he can finally let go. For a home that tells him: You are exactly where you're meant to be.
