Toby

Update on Toby from his fosterhome in PA:
Toby is in spite of his past, an absolute sweetheart, a teddybear and loves his people and life in general. Oh, and stuffed animals, he loves stuffed animals..
Rightnow he is living in a home with 7 other dogs, a small pincher/chihuahua mix with them.
Toby is adjusting very well to home life, was housebroken right away and is a happy boy.
He'd be fine as an only dog also, if he gets plenty of human company.
On outings he is well behaved towards children and other dogs.
Even though a podenco, this Campanero boy is more of a teddy bear who prefers belly rubs over being active.
That said, he does need exercise in way of walks to get at a healthy weight.
He is not a silly jumper, but does love time in the yard, hunting for mice and sunbathing or chasing a stuffy thrown for him.

Over all his needs are a nice walk a day, plenty of belly rubs and some patience while he gets to know the world.

"It's not the world that's cruel, but the people in it..."

On 23.06.2024 there was a rescue operation from a terrible rehala near Cordoba - Toby was one of these victims who had to vegetate on a short chain for years.

Toby is a survivor. Despite his difficult past, Toby has managed to retain a certain trust in people. His resilience is truly admirable, but now more than ever he needs a home where he can spend his twilight years in peace and love.

At the shelter, it is particularly difficult for him to get used to his new surroundings. The constant coming and going, the noise and the lack of a fixed routine affect his well-being. There is an urgent need to find a family for Toby who can offer him a calm and safe environment where he can feel loved and protected.

Toby needs a family that understands his special needs as an older dog and is willing to give him all the love and patience he deserves. A home where he can enjoy quiet walks, a comfortable place to rest and above all lots of love and understanding.

If you have room in your heart and home for an older dog who is just looking for peace and affection in his final years, then please consider giving Toby his golden years...
